PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The media lab and library is designed with simplicity and functional efficiency in mind. The design concept for this project is an open book depicting knowledge sharing. this is echoed by the curved roof profile. The overall planning has utilised the courtyard concept with a great court infront of the building and a smaller court within the building opening up to a skylight that light this great entry with rays of light...rays of hope. The building has been designed to utilise maximum daylight since its in the tropics, passive cooling is also factored through provision of sunshading devices that also act as planters hence aesthetic and environmental impact.great care has been given to material use with natural stone used on the exterior and selected interior walls. roofing material is profiled iron sheets on steel trusses eliminating need for low ceiling and increasing space volume helping climate control within the scheme
