Title: Sport Acupuncture, Sao Paolo, Brazil - FANS!, Team 11 - Drexel University Design Charrette Presenter: Bryan Tucker Email: bmt26@drexel.edu Status: Undergraduate College: Goodwin Department: Architecture Dept. Category: Innovation In Education and Outreach Abstact: Sport Acupuncture, a fustal stadium, in Sao Paolo, Brazil was created by a group of students from Drexel University. The project, under the supervision of Cameron Sinclair and the Drexel Architecture Dept., is a self sustaining low cost structure that would be able to be erected by the local community. The goal of the structure is to evoke pride and a sense of home within the local population. The composition of the structure allows the building to be collapsed and moved to a different location if need being. It is important that the sustainable stadium leave only a small ecological footprint on the favellas os Sao Paolo Brazil; therefore, the structure has been created using only local materials, solar energy, water collection and filtration.
