PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Survivorbuildingregeneration makes earthquake and hurricane proof buildings, basically it is the old balloon frame put together with modern metal wood connectors. It is the wood connectors that make these buildings earthquake and hurricane proof. This is achieved do to three causes: 1) all the parts, studs, joist, rafter are held together so tightly that the buildings become one gaint block that can move around on the surface of the earth without harm in the event of an earthquake. 2) These buildings are greatly strengthened by crossbraceing especially the basecrossbraces, and the firestopcrossbraces which are anchored in reinforced concrete fuselages; these fuselages form ribbons around these buildings, sense these ribbons are built into the wood connector system it is theorized that the ribbons would have to be broken in order for one of these buildings to collapes, therefore these buildings take on the strength of a reinforced concrete buildings while being light wieght wood, or metal stud buildings. 3) In this type of construction the studs, joist, and rafters align on the prependicular side, interior walls would be built in the ring formed by this alignment and some crossbracing would be installed inside these interior walls thereby strengthening against lateral collapes on the prependicular side. Some crossbracing would also exist in the interior walls on the parallel side preventing lateral collapes on the parallel side. In addition to being extremely strong this type of framing can be put up, and taken down without harming the building materials. This is achieved do to the fact that these frames go together quit a bit like scaffolding with crossbracing and clieves pins. This, means among other things, that these frames can be used to make extremely strong tents with unfinished interiors, and tent like exteriors. Every time one of these frames goes up, after the first time, or if one of these buildings is striped down to it's frame in order to replace damaged wood with new wood to make the building like new it can be said to have regenerated like a flower coming up year after year. The ablity to regenerate means that these buildings are built to last forever.
