Mumbai Cultural Center

Overviewteamupdatesworkspacecalendarfiles

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This is a proposal for the redevelopment of a abandoned mill site in Mumbai India. The aim of the project was to renovate the main mill building on the site into a cultural center which would more thoroughly respond to the climatic cues of coastal India. It attempts to do this through well proportioned overhangs, solar screening such as jali, and natural ventilation techniques such as wing walls. Also the main smoke stack on the site was retrofitted to become a passive downdraft evaporative cooler powered by a vertical wind turbine.
