TunaHAKI is proceeding, we are in the process of hiring an engineer and a local consultant architect. We architects travelled there in March and made our suggestions about these people to TunaHAKI; now it's up to them to finalize their contracts, so we can continue our work with other professionals. We are planning on submitting for building permission in the beginning of June. --Saija, Jenni, Helena, Donna and Claude Please note: This information is subject to our Terms of Use, including a specific disclaimer. The TunaHAKI gang is in Tanzania today, things are going very well indeed!
Saija, Helena, Claude and Scott are visiting with the client, and working with sanitation engineer and structural engineer right now.
The most important decisions that have just been made are regarding material selection. It has taken alot of research and conversation to determine the best materials to use, in terms of sustainable aspects of construction, a very interesting cultural exchange for all of us!
We are all pleased with the progress so far, it's been challenging and exciting for everyone, with real work still ahead. --Donna Cohen
