PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The basis of my exploration is to be able to provide those affected by the disaster with some basic tools to improve upon the type of housing that is prevalent in urban and rural areas in the affected zone. By suggesting ways to strengthen walls and a method to reduce the weight of the roof, I hope to provide a means to create homes that will reduce the chance of structural failure or at least reduce the detrimental effects of falling debris during an earthquake.
